Pick your day of the week crucifixion: mainly available for tablets or computers doesn't work well on mobile devices.

Note: The timeline below is based on biblical accounts and interpretations of the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The dates are given in the context of the Jewish calendar, specifically the month of Abib (Nisan).
This assumes that a day is 24 hours long and begins at sunset. We will probably eventually look at the opposite with a day beginning at sunrise too.
Trying to start out with the most basic outlook, then building from there. Option A will always be Jesus crucified on Abib 14, the day of Passover. Option B will always be Jesus crucified on Abib 15, the day after Passover. Option C will explore alternative scenarios.

The following options compare possible crucifixion days using both the Hebrew method of reckoning a day (sunset to sunset) and the Roman method (midnight to midnight).
Luke 24:21 says: “today is the third day since these things happened.”

Beginning of the Roman Wednesday occurs during Hebrew Abib 14.

These three possibilities can now be compared without assuming beforehand which day the crucifixion occurred.
Wednesday → Thursday = Day 1
Thursday → Friday = Day 2
Friday → Saturday = Day 3
Sunday = Day 4 by straightforward elapsed-day counting
Thursday → Friday = Day 1
Friday → Saturday = Day 2
Saturday → Sunday = Day 3
Sunday = Day 3 by the stated counting framework
Friday → Saturday = Day 1
Saturday → Sunday = Day 2
Sunday = Day 2 by straightforward elapsed-day counting
The purpose of this comparison is to examine whether the wording of Luke 24:21 is being understood as an elapsed-day count, an inclusive count, or as referring to a particular group of events described as “these things.”
These three possibilities can now be compared using inclusive counting, where the day of the crucifixion is counted as Day 1.
Wednesday = Day 1
Thursday = Day 2
Friday = Day 3
Saturday = Day 4
Sunday = Day 5
Thursday = Day 1
Friday = Day 2
Saturday = Day 3
Sunday = Day 4
Friday = Day 1
Saturday = Day 2
Sunday = Day 3
Under this inclusive-counting framework, Sunday would be Day 5 after a Wednesday crucifixion, Day 4 after a Thursday crucifixion, and Day 3 after a Friday crucifixion.
The purpose of this comparison is to examine whether the wording of Luke 24:21 is being understood as an elapsed-day count, an inclusive count, or as referring to a particular group of events described as “these things.”
